We have never found a satisfactory dictionary definition of strategy. Simply put, strategy is the means whereby a business will secure and sustain a competitive position in the marketplace. Strategy is about being different and unique. It is about understanding the core of uniqueness that lies at the heart of a company and which serves to differentiate it from the competition in the marketplace. All too often, established firms have compromised their way to homogeneity with the competition and have lost sight of how they will create a difference they can preserve through strategy.

Most importantly, strategy is about how a company will satisfy its requirement for profitability. Profit is not a goal – it is a requirement. This includes providing practical coaching and support at both the individual and team level. We use a proven and workable approach which includes intensive one-on-one and team coaching, drawing upon the deep expertise of our practitioners in this area. In addition, we work with lower level leaders and managers to provide the advice, guidance and coaching needed in the areas of operational and technical expertise, growth, and problem solving.

Competitive Strategy—Of all the factors contributing to the sustainability of a business, by far the most important is profitable growth. We work with senior management to first understand their current strategy and to validate the assumptions underpinning it. Then, we facilitate the development of a new strategy based on a set of valid assumptions that are aligned with the marketplace reality. Finally, we facilitate the deployment of the new strategy into the processes and structures of the organization to build tactical alignment and drive integrated performance.
